I have been here a couple times in the past two months. I saw the sign and it drew me right to yelp to see what this place is all about. The happy hour specials are awesome! Cant beat $2 tacos and $2 beers of any kind. The margaritas are small but good. My GF liked their sangria a lot but I tried it and would rather have a marg on the rocks! Since the tacos are $2 at happy hour I tried dif kinds. The best one by far was the brisket taco!! Then the fried chicken taco. The others I tried were good but just not as good as the brisket or fried chicken. Their salads are great and filling if thats what you would like to try. And thennnn there is the doughnuts!! Soooo good. A great finish to my happy hour meal. The only thing about this spot is I don't know if I would go here to much not during happy hour. I think the prices are a little steep for what you get but thats just my two cents! This place gets jam packed sometimes during happy hour so you should go as early as you can. Around 515 to 530 is when I have gotten there and never had trouble finding a spot, but at like 630 when we leaver there is usually a line out the door!!!

I really love the unique tacos they have. I had great service every time. The donuts are delicious as well! I highly recommend this place!

Wife & I have been here 4-5 times. The food has always been good, the service is decent & beer is cold! I'm not a donut guy, but am told their "gourmet" donuts are delicious. I like that they have a full bar & the food comes out in a timely manner.

Had a quick lunch there today. If you are eating in rather than waiting in the insane line to order, it is recommended to go sit at the bar. I had th beef brisket taco, and a cup of green pork chili. The beef taco was served with a flour tortilla, shredded beef that was quite tender but lacking in flavor, and pico de gallo. I added the taco sauce from a bottle to it. It added heat but not a lot of flavor. A step up from Taco Bell but not much. The green pork chili had ground pork, and a nice broth but was missing both the depth and the heat of a great chili verde. The portion size is definitely a cup. Total bill with drink was under eight dollars so it is not a bad deal, though the food quality could certainly be improved.

The only problem with this place: it has been discovered and is crowded. But pull up a seat at the bar for lunch, get three tacos (I love the grilled fish), and it is a perfect lunch. I came to the area from San Diego, so I've been spoiled. Every little area up and down the California coast is dotted with fish taco places (sure, they also sell other things). I have had fantastic fish tacos and I never thought I'd find a good fish taco here. But along comes Sweet Taco. Grilled fish, fresh toppings, a bit of sauce (minor point, I prefer salsa on fish tacos), then spice it up with their amazing choices of local hot sauce - done and fantastic: the soft taco yields, the fish is still warm and slightly crisp outside, and the tang of the hot sauce.

Need to work on the quality control of the food. The food seems really greasy lately

Finally checked out this place and it's not bad. The shrimp and veggie bean taco are pretty good. Avoid the fish taco. My favorite so far is the shrimp corn chowder which is on the sweet side (nothing a little hot sauce can't fix). The guacamole was really bland but the chips were crispy and flavorful. The employees are nice, especially the sweet lady who rings you up, but I always double-check my food because I've been given the wrong order on more than one occasion! That doesn't keep me from stopping by for that chowder, though.

The service was super friendly, the bar looks interesting, and the decor is great ... But the tacos are terrible.

Had a brisket taco and crispy chicken taco, both very good. The margaritas are nice and priced right. My husband had a bacon donut and said it was fantastic. I like this place for a quick bite and a drink. The atmosphere is fun and a nice place to sit and eat.

Loved this place as Taqueria Del Sol and love it even more as Sweet Taco. The owner Chris, changed it so more options could be given and he made the right call. The addition of salads is perfect and they still have the chowder, which tastes incredible. We ordered the chips and guacamole which was fresh and tasty. They now have 4 different Rocky's Hot Sauces for extra kick if you want it. For dinner last night I had the Taco Salad. It was a huge salad and had the most tender chicken on it with a lime dressing that tasted amazing. My only issue was being the salad was so big, a half size portion would be welcome or remember to order the dressing on the side. Hubby had 3 different tacos and loved them. Chris gave us their new concoction - Sangria - WOW! I cannot tell you how delicious this was. You have to try it but make sure someone else is driving :) The owner and the staff are friendly, the place is clean. The change is welcome and we will be back.

Came here with my son as we were in the area a few Saturday's ago. I asked the person working the counter if the chips are gluten free (dedicated fryer) and she said, "yeah they're corn." I asked several other questions and came to the conclusion she had no idea what was gluten free. Another woman approached the area so I asked her if she knew was gluten free and she said she could make a salad with chicken. She told me they have a very small kitchen so offering gluten free options safely was difficult and that they were trying to train the staff on what was gf. The salad was mediocre at best.

Sweet: doughnuts are good. Taco: tried 2. Also a chicken chef special. Salsa & chips. The food is ok but lacks spice across the board: no bursting of flavor. Even the salsas. Good thing for the variety of lovely Rocky's Hot Sauces to save the day! The also serve Mexican Coke.

Interesting & tasty take on TexMex with a sweet finish. If you go in expecting authentic Mexican or identical to Taquiera Del Sol, you will be disappointed. This is completely different, it's an artisanal, hip take on tacos & donuts. If you're looking to try something that you've never had before -- This. Is. It. I've read too many poor reviews bc people were disappointed it wasn't like the old place (which I absolutely LOVED as well) & that it wasn't authentic. It's not supposed to be. It's wild taco combinations & dessert (SWEET) tacos. Hence the name of the restaurant. I've gotten take out & dined in. Quick with orders. They have pulled pork tacos, cheeseburger tacos, unusual combinations & the chicken tacos are the best! The portion you get (a medium soft taco size) was filled with meat, veggies, full. They are well priced for what you get. They serve alcohol & you can also patronize for JUST donuts. Donuts I've tried: churro, cannoli, apple pie, maple bacon, chocolate jalapeño. Very filling, more of a dessert than a breakfast donut. Well priced, clean, quick, tasty. You'll love it if you are not expecting "traditional" Mexican or a Dunkin Donuts "quick & cheap" glazed. Donuts are sweet, cakey & so many choices you won't know what to do with yourself. Truths: I wasn't a huge fan of the rice & beans or other items beyond tacos. They were average compared to their spectacular tacos.

Love tacos. Love Donuts. But not from this place. I ordered three tacos: chicken crispy, fish fried, and smoked pork. I also ordered a side of bean and rice. My friends ordered the loaded nachos, and burrito. When our order came, I kid you not, we were all disappointed. As a group, we've visited many taquerias and this isn't one. Granted Sweet Taco isn't a taqueria, but I feel their food lacked passion, enthusiasm, and honest creativity. I like to concept of tacos and donuts, but when you have establishments like Chipotle who can make the same thing but the flavors are WAY better, then why bother? BUT you may say, "WAIT THEY HAVE DONUTS!". And from the display case they look amazing! So we ordered 2 dozen assorted flavor of donuts to go and when we got home, they were rather disappointing, as well. They were dry and falling apart. I am not sure if it was because we came in during dinner time and they've been sitting out all day, but they failed to "WOW" us. Oh, and the service was bad, as well. The employees lacked professionalism. And like their food, lack enthusiasm and passion for the work. In fact while I was standing in line, the employees were gossiping than serving their customers. Overall, I don't plan to return. This place looks great on the outside, but in the inside really pathetic. I hope they wake-up and realize they have a great concept, but they are failing at it. I hope they change for the best.

Great donuts and great food! Make sure to try the corn chowder soup and the shrimp tacos! As for the donuts -I love them ALL... Horchata, orange cream and caramel flan are my faves. Had to edit my review. Paid almost $30 for tilapia special , soup and some extra donuts bc I love their food but spent over 30 mins waiting and it was not crowded . The owner came and asked for my receipt after 25 mins and that's how I got my food. And I got no utensils. I got an apology from owner and a donut, but not from the cashier who lost my receipt.

They have crafted some very fresh twists on Mexican food. My burrito was the cheese steak but I requested chicken instead of steak and it was excellent. The food was fresh and full of flavor, the cheese sauce was very fresh and delicious!

Look, you can't throw some bits of steak, peppers and onions in a soft tortilla and call that a taco. Especially when there's not even traditional Mexican seasonings on any of the items in the tortilla. Luckily, I was there with my parents, so I was able to have some of their food to make up for the disappointing "steak tacos". I knew I should have gone with my gut and gotten the nachos (like my dad did), but since it was my first time here, I was thinking I should get an order of tacos since the word "taco" is in the name and all. My mistake I guess. My mom's chimichanga was pretty good too. We also had doughnuts while we were there as well, and those were pretty good. Though I do have to agree with the one other yelper here who said that their doughnuts are more or less just standard cake doughnuts with different varieties and flavors of icing on them. Don't expect crullers or boston cremes or cronuts here. However, this place seems to have gotten pretty darn inventive with the cake doughnut and icing combination. My chocolate covered bacon doughnut was pretty darn good. I'll gladly go here again to give this place another chance since I've heard so many good things about it from friends. But from my first experience here, I'd have to say that your best bet is to get anything but the tacos at Sweet Taco.

I was here previously when it was Taqueria del Sol and inside, it doesn't look like much has changed with the layout or decor. It's still a relatively cheap Mexican fast food place where you stand in line to order and then your food is delivered to your table. The menu is a bit limited with tacos being the primary option, but they did also have burritos, salads, nachos, and the typical Mexican side dishes. We started with the chips with guac and queso. Guac was pretty good and queso had a bit of heat to it. I went with a chicken and a brisket taco--both which were delicious. You have the option of getting a corn tortilla but a 6-inch flour one is the default selection. What I really liked about this place was the homemade specialty donuts and on this visit, I went with the lemon meringue, churro, and the bacon maple donut! Oh my...simply delicious and not too heavy. I would go back just for the donuts alone!

I stumbled upon this place last month while exploring the stores in the area. Excellent friend shrimp tacos and reasonably priced margaritas! They also have a catering menu that appears affordable - just ask your host for more information. Lastly - there's an adorable and super-wonderful waiter here - Kenny. ***********************UPDATE! I'm here now and need to cut off points 1. With the intention of staying longer, discovered that I need to go back and forth to the cashier and bar to order. Very inconvenient. 2. They kept messing up my food order. Too tired to ask a second time for the correct order. 3. DIRTY TABLES AND FLOOR. I kept going back and forth to find a clean table and when I found a half way decent booth - I'm next to food on the floor that should be cleaned up. And the servers don't look busy. Wanted to really make this place a regular hangout. Not happening now. But.....they gave me and my friend complimentary doughnuts at the end of our night. Not bad Sweet Taco!

My boyfriend and I have turned this into one of our 'spots.' We come here every, or as of late every other, weekend. The food is great, and it's truly a unique experience here. Upon entering, you go up to the counter and place your order. Once you've ordered, they give you a number, you place it on your table, and that's how they know where to bring your food! My go to is the crispy chicken taco. It has on it crispy chicken, lettuce, tomato, and a lime jalapeño mayonnaise. Personally, I substitute the mayo for some of their queso sauce, but that only due to me not particularity caring for mayo in general, so it's nothing against that sauce, which I'm sure is great. Anyways, so I get one of these, and usually whatever their special taco is, which changes our every Monday. My boyfriend's order changes on the constant, but he usually gets two tacos of some variation as well. In addition to this, we usually share nachos with brisket. Let me tell you, their queso is AMAAAAZING! I could put it on everything, and I would love to get their recipe.... I'll keep dreaming though because that won't happen! :) The tacos are fairly priced, but it builds up fast, our order of 2 tacos each, brisket nachos, and two drinks prices out around 26 or 27 dollars, yikes. Still not the worst though, because the food is fresh and worth it. One thing that is a bit too high priced is the donuts though. I don't remember the prices, but I know the specialty (which is most of them) is more than the regular donuts of course, and it adds up even quicker. The donuts are good, but they're small. I would rather grab donuts at Horsham Donuts or Yum Yum due to the size to price ratio. Regardless though, they are quite tasty, they have a rotating schedule, and even some of them are 'adult donuts,' like the margarita one, if I'm remembering right! That reminds me of another, and my last factor, there's a bar! I haven't really drank here, but I've seen their board and it looks like they have quite the variety! Like I said though, I haven't gone here for drinks, so my input here is fairly useless, but still worth the mention. Overall, sweet taco is well... pretty sweet!

My husband and I had been wanting to try Sweet Taco for a while, and I am so glad that we did. We started off with the guacamole, which felt a little bit too spicy for me, but that was really the only negative thing I could say about it! It was very obviously homemade and was very tasty (besides the spicyness, and I'm kind of a baby when it comes to that) I tried a Fish taco and a Veggie taco. Both were absolutely delicious- especially the Veggie. I loved it. My husband had the Brisket taco, Cheesesteak taco, and Shrimp taco- and loved them all. I convinced him to share a donut with me...I chose the birthday cake one. We loved it- it was seriously so good, I wanted more. Definitely can't wait to come back. Very fun little place with extremely nice servers.

Really enjoyed my tacos and the owner was so sweet to us and gave us donuts to try. Loved all their creative donut varieties. Definitely will come back. Go here if you want something different then your standard casual dining experience. All you chipotle addicts live a little and try a true original spot.

This is unfortunate....We fell in love with this place when it was Taqueria Del Sol. We could feel confident in stopping there for quick, delicious tacos and happy service. Dined at Sweet Taco last night, ordered what we typically would, the nachos came out and you could tell how hastily they were made. Had to stop a server/food runner to ask for plates, as non were brought with the nachos. Server was not too happy to be bothered. After eating some to reveal the plate underneath, it looked like someone spilled a ranch dressing on the plate prior to the nachos going down. I like ranch dressing, but I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be on the nachos' plate at all. We ordered the fried chicken, fish tacos and brisket tacos. Brisket was dry, chicken was cold, fish was ok. It was disappointing to say the least b/c it was our go-to stop. Hope others have a better experience.

I been wanting to try this place for like forever. This was my first time here and I won't be back. The food was to plain and the prices are high. The birthday cake donut I tried was very dry, the ground beef tasted funny and the chicken taco salad had a strong lime vinaigrette on it. When you walk in the girl at the register didn't help either, because she wasn't welcoming either, she didn't say anything when me and my daughter came in she just stared at us like she saw a ghost. "I'm one and done."

Even with the name change, this place has continued to be out "go-to" spot when it comes to cheap drinks and tacos. Many of their menu items are the same from when they were Taqueria del Sol. I'm happy they still have the brisket and the jalapeño cheese. I'm happy they added the steak taco, I absolutely love it. The donuts are a fun addition and now we always get one when we stop in. The salads are a nice change too for anyone looking to eat healthier. There are also a variety of vegetarian options. I highly suggest the "Texas" margaritas as well as their frozen ones. There's outdoor seating and a bar area for those interested. Definitely check this place out!

Once I got done giggled about the name, I ate a couple of tacos. I got the cheeseburger taco and the steak taco. I'm not sure if I would get the cheeseburger taco again, but the steak taco was great. i also got rice and beans, which were alright. My parents are always raving about the donuts here, but I didn't get a chance to try one. Bonus: they have a bar. This bar has Maker's Mark.

Can I say that I didn't know what to expect, tacos and designer donuts? Well the cheeseburger taco is my new obsession and I have all the girls I work with slowly trying then and we all say it's the most amazing thing we've ever had!!! The donuts are fun and a little bizarre but delicious just the same. Try taco Tuesday's!!! Can't wait to go back and try the margaritas

Second try. Services was great. Food was correct. Still not much in the flavor department. Donuts were great.

I still love this place. Perfect for a quick dinner that involves a beer or margarita. AND a donut! The tacos are pretty good. Nothing fancy but good. The fish tacos used to be my favorite when this place as called Taqueria del Sol, but they have changed and now are only so-so... Seriously... bring back the old fish taco recipe.... PLEASE! My new taco of choice is the cheeseburger, which has a very peppery beef and mayo flavor (not so much the cheese) but still pretty good. Nachos are on point. Definitely get the chips and cheese. Donuts are very good, albeit small... but after such a big dinner who needs a big donut? The other specialty menu items are very good although I often just stick to tacos and beer. (What else does a man need anyway?)

Ordered the "chef special" chimichanga...not good. The menu said it came with guacamole and rice. I thought it would all be wrapped up and in a fried tortilla but NO it was not, basically the chimichanga had chicken, cilantro, and cheese in it. When I got it the entire thing was drenched in green chile salsa so it was extremely soggy and disappointing. I've given this place multiple chances at correcting themselves but every time I come here I am disappointed. I think I'm done now.

We only tried the donuts, and they were disappointing. Most of the options were just plain cake donuts topped with icing, and rolled in different cookie or candy bits. Plus, each donut was about twice as expensive as you would have guessed.

Checked this place out after driving past it too many times. I ordered the cheeseburger taco and steak taco with a side of rice and beans. I was not a fan of the rice and beans, but loved the tacos. The cheeseburger was a cheesy ground beef mixture that looked like hamburger helper, but tasted much better. The steak was standard; tender and not chewy. The donuts I got was a little dry and overly sweet for my taste. This place does have a bar, which is a fun option for sporting events.

So I had never been here before, drove by it a few times but never stopped in. I am glad I did. The tacos beat hipsterpolte and mad mex by far. The meat is great, I mean meat is supposed be great right? So as I am leaving I stop to look at the donuts and the young lady at the counter recommended the cannoli donut, not being a fan of cannolis in general I was doubtful but I bought it anyway. Well let me thank you young lady, IT WAS AMAZING. That is all.

$2 taco's and corona lite beer, on Tuesdays. It's packed after 1:00, so go early if you want a seat. I got 5 taco's and two beers, picked fried chicken, pulled pork, burger, waco and steak. The steak was the weakest, not a lot going on but the others were money. $14 and I'm happy, beers cold and they had a lime wedge in each 12oz glass. They have a leather couch and a TV, this place could be BAD for me.

Disappointing first time experience tonight. 14 year old daughter wanted to go there so I was game. Ordered at counter and when signing credit card receipt left $6.00 on $24. Sure, it's difficult to tip prior to actually receiving the service and I'm never quite sure how much to tip at these places where you order at the counter but I used to be a server so I thought a nice tip might ensure good service....Anyway, we ordered chips and queso as an appetizer and then each ordered tacos. When our chips and queso were delivered we didn't receive napkins or plates. Fine, I thought, no problem, they must have forgotten, I'll just go to the counter and get some. So I went over to where the soda fountain and straws, etc. are kept, thinking that napkins would be there but there weren't any. Fine, I thought, no problem, they must have run out, so I went over to the cashier. I wasn't even bothered that she was on her phone...I have a teenager, I get it. When she looked up from her phone I said "can you please tell me where the napkins are?" To which she replied "they are in the back." She seemed annoyed but I thought, Ok, she is telling me she is going to go get them...then she asked me, again in an annoyed way, "do you have food?" To which I replied "yes." I was a little confused at the question but I was out with my daughter and in a happy mood so I didn't give it much weight. I then went back to my seat and she came over a minute later and put two napkins down and as she was turning to walk away she snidely said "they usually bring them with the tacos." What? I thought....did I just hear that right? Is she really telling me that napkins only get brought out with tacos? And that you can't have them with appetizers, lol? What if I had spilled something? And would I have not qualified for a napkin had I answered "no" when she asked me if I had food or not? Really, it was just silly and rude. What amazes me is that businesses allow employees to treat customers this way. I guess she didn't want to get off of her phone and then before she got napkins for me she had to qualify whether or not I needed them? Honestly, the food was ok but the whole experience was tainted by the service. I did service training for years to help restaurants avoid having servers who treat customers that way. It doesn't matter how good the food is if the service is rude. I don't usually write reviews, this is my first, but if I was a restaurant owner I would want to know if my servers were being rude.

I've been here twice for lunch within the past two months. I've tried the loaded nachos, the cheeseburger taco, chicken taco and BBQ pork taco and was satisfied with all of them. Both times I was greeted by the same cashier and she was friendly, had a smile on her face and got my orders right. I've also tried a couple of the donuts and while they are a different kind of donut, they were still pretty good. The last time I was there, the owner brought out my order and even double checked it before I left and was polite. Plenty of seating indoors and out and quite honestly, the amount of selections on the menu is just right. Sometimes, you get too many to choose from and it gets out of hand. I see no reason why I wouldn't keep coming back.

Honey and I wanted tacos and we were running errands in Horsham. Had been to the Taqueria del Sol (that this place kinda still is) before and liked it. Now they serve creative donuts in a taco shop. It was a strange combination but it works. For my lunch I had the grilled chicken salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly but the salad could have used a little more in the way flavorings and toppings. The dressing was overpowering and too limey. It was edible but just barely. His brisket taco was good. But not enough meat came in the shells. It was too much shell and not enough meat. Now the donuts...those were worth the price, the ok lunch and the decision making time it took to pick out what we would take home with us!!! Maple Bacon Glaze!!! I don't eat desserts all that often. These have me craving more. I would go back again.

Good food and a nice beer selection. Didn't get a chance to sample any of the alcohol though (like their house margarita) because I'm currently on medication that prevents me from drinking. I'd imagine they are good based on the tequila selection shown. This place earns major points with me because of the extremely friendly staff. The food is good and is complimented nicely by their wide selection of hot sauces to go with your meal. Reasonable price especially if you order from the specials. The donuts are also pretty awesome. Definitely worth checking out.

My boyfriend and I went to Sweet Taco on a whim yesterday and honestly, I'm not sure all these bad reviews are warranted. I ordered the nachos and they were honestly great. My boyfriend ordered the taco chicken salad and it was also rad. The lime vinaigrette was hands down the best vinaigrette I've ever had. Haters~.

My husband and I used to love this place when it was Taqueria del Sol. We went maybe 3 times a month. Loved the food, loved the variety & loved the fact that we could bring the grandkids, sit at one of the big, tall tables, and have a good meal. We went few weeks ago after they changed to Sweet Taco, and ended up walking out. Gone were the entree choices we used to love (enchiladas, tilapia different ways, shrimp & grits), The taco offerings seemed the same, as were the soups, but no more charro beans. They now have burritos, but a cheese steak burrito? Come on. And the donuts. What's up with the donuts? I am not sure what caused them to change from the good thing they had going, but it isn't a change in the right direction as far as I am concerned. We won't be going back. Sad.

Looks a little sketchy, not the cleanest, and weird name fo course, but incredible food, service, and drinks Buddy and I got tacos, steak, fish and shrimp, all tasty and simple, expected for $2.79 ea Plus blended margaritas, and this thing called an "iceberg" with a little frozen margie on top of a mexican cerveza Then the donut feast --- we had churros, coconut cream, and cannoli (cannoli was best), then the lovely hostess went bonkers and heated up a french toast/maple syrup donut, insanity We'll be back!!! Thank you Lucas, Brianna, and Howard...

Eh. Donuts were good but the food was uber-gringo. Very plain and no real Mexican flavor. The actual quality of the food wasn't bad but I would pick Baja Fresh over this any day for fast "Mexican" food.

Likely my new favorite place! It's a great fast-casual restaurant plus a bar! Is it fine dining? No, but for a fast-casual it gets five stars from me! Fish tacos are to die for! Very fresh tasting. Everything is very reasonably priced - even the drinks! Howard waited on me and was genuinely kind and provided excellent service.

LOVE the food here. My company orders from them every other week and everyone in the company seems to be a fan. I always get the veggie burrito and churro donut for dessert. They provide excellent customer service and are quick to correct any issues if they arise. Thank you for your great service and yummy food!

Edit: Haven't eaten here in a pretty long while. Been craving other stuff I guess. I can't say whether they've improved lately or not. Seems they're sticking with the cakey donuts. Probably 3.5 stars. We got takeout from this place dozens of times when it was Taqueria del Sol, a small chain. Now it's The Sweet Taco, and the food is different. And they have donuts. Some things aren't as good as they used to be, some are better. But let's get real people: this was never "authentic" Mexican. It was, and still is, a mash-up of taqueria and Tex-Mex. Which is totally okay, because that's what they're going for. Some items are almost exactly the same. So what's different? Where del Sol offered breaded chicken tacos, Sweet Taco has roasted chicken. And it's awesome. Plus they added grilled fish instead of just fried fish. They'll also put your taco on corn tortillas now if you ask. I miss the charros beans, but the pork green chili is as good and spicy as ever. They should bring back the carnitas taco, because it's silly not to have it. And if they're not going to have weekly specials, they should put the Cubano taco on the regular menu. Along with the bbq shrimp and grits. And the old salsas were more interesting. It wouldn't hurt to add more vegetarian options either. So some things need improving, but they've got a solid foundation and I think they'll find their way through the transitional period okay. Judging from the first few reviews here, you might think the situation was dire, but they're super busy every time we go in, and we keep going back. As for the donuts, I'd describe them as interesting/high quality frostings on average, cakey donuts. (I prefer fried dough.) They're smaller and more expensive than an average donut, but they're also a lot denser and generally richer. With choices like salted caramel, lime jalapeno, bacon and maple, and margarita, it's clear that they're going for a trendier donut, but the donut itself should really be better, IMO. Still doesn't stop me from getting one for dessert though.

This place changed names recently. Liked it better before the "Sweet" changes. I ordered 2 veggie tacos, they forgot the veggies! (I asked for them and they gave them to me in a tiny plastic container- like for a side of hot peppers- that small-they were sad zucchini, like 4 pieces/diced or so for my 2 tacos), the rest of the taco was re-fried beans and cheese. Not creative at all.

Best brisket tacos around . You can order for catering . Staff is very friendly . Service is great . Very clean friendly place . highly recommend. !! Donuts are yummy .

The food is pretty meh. Nothing really has a ton of flavor. The fish is bland. The shrimp are bland. The brisket is bland. The beans are bland. They basically put one topping on each kind of taco. So even if the toppings had lots of flavor (which they don't) the foundation is weak. If you go at lunch, you'll have a long wait, both in line, since they only have one line, and for your food once you're sitting. Donuts are ok, but nothing spectacular.

Second visit in a few days (and in total). First was on Cinco de Mayo...atmosphere was busy and lively. Food and service were decent. I was impressed enough to go back tonight....and was disappointed. Mostly with the staff and lack of professionalism. Two things stood out (and this is aside from the fact that their bar sucks, because it is not a restaurant/bar I guess). #1 the young girls behind the "bar" were giggling and chatting amongst themselves while customers (we) were standing at the bar waiting for service. The girl who served us stood back against the counter, arms folded, and asked if we had "figured it out". Never once offered a suggestion, or even a real greeting. My guest and I were among only a handful of guests, so they were not overwhelmed. #2 "Sweet Taco"... why does a taco place serve doughnuts? Hmm... you would think that is the backdrop of the entire culture of the place, no? Apparently management has not thought to train their staff to understand and promote this culture (and grow their brand). After dinner, I went to the front counter to get a half-dozen doughnuts, and the couple in front of me, as they were ordering dinner, asked why. The cashier answered "I don't know". She doesn't know? That's a problem. Management needs to step it up a notch if they are to survive. Pros: the doughnuts are yummy and the food is fresh and good (if not very flavorful)

Tacos, donuts, and alcohol, it doesn't get any better. Everything I've had here has been amazing, from tacos to donuts. This place is definitely worth trying out if you like fresh tacos or are just in the mood for a fun flavored donut.

Tried it once and boy what a let down... We were so excited and wanted to love this place. The donuts were good but we had tacos and a burrito.. awful, just awful! I don't even know what else to say.. it was bad and not worth the $.

Loved this place when it was Taqiera Del Sol. They changed the menu and took off the enchiladas. The food doesn't taste the same. The donuts and fritters taste like store bought ones that they put toppings on to make their "own". They are horrible. Won't be going back. We used to go at least twice a month.

I love this place ! And you can't beat $2 Tuesday's ! I am here at least once a week, more like 2 but who's counting . There is nothing I don't like here. The smoke pork taco is the best! And the local hot sauce gets 2 thumbs up as well. I bought 4 of them to take home.

Food is great, nice atmosphere ordered the brisket loaded nachos, but the brisket seemed a little overcooked, dry with no seasoning. Needed some help by rockeys Bbq hot sauce!

Just got back from our first trip to the Sweet Taco and I have to say I'm disappointed. We ordered a chirro doughnut, The loaded nacho's with ground beef, 4 tacos, crispy chicken, fish, cheeseburger, and steak. We decided to have the doughnut as an appetizer since we had to wait for the food and were starving. This was the best part of the meal. The doughnut was sliced and in the middle it had a cream inside that was so tasty. My nacho's came out with a kids sized portion of ground beef on it. They were tasty but definitely way to much chips for the small amount of topping on them. My husband had the taco's and he said they were OK but nothing special. With Qdoba, Mad Mexx, and Chipotle within just 2 miles from this place I just don't see how they are going to make it. They would have been better off just opening up a doughnut shop.

I have to say I have a love hate thing going on. The shrimp taco is good BUT there is not much in it. You have to ask for extra lettuce or u get 4 pieces. There is no cheese on the tacos. Which is kind if strange. I do not think you get what u pay for. But the favor of things are good!!!

This place is awesome because...it's different! It's not a typical Mexican/Tex-Mex fast food joint anymore like it was when it was Taqueria del Sol, which is good. Who needs another Chipotle / Baja Fresh / Qdoba / Taco Bell / Del Taco? Sweet Taco is unique and offers some crazy menu options. If you are still looking for a more traditional taco experience, just order their brisket tacos and jalapeno cheese dip. It's some of the best queso dip I've had. The donuts were good, nice option for dessert, and again, it's different! Price here is great too, my wife and I eat here often since moving to the area and never spend over $30 for dinner for two. Workers are always nice and service is fast. Haven't tried the beers yet, but they have a great selection. Will definitely be back for a beer/nachos session soon.

New iteration. Same owner we were told... by the pretty unwelcoming, flat-affect owner. Food was good. Staff friendly. This would have been a 4-star review except the owner was 2-star unwelcoming (at least at that moment in time). Their outdoor plants need watering!

I love The Sweet Taco. The atmosphere is great. I love the full bar. I love the food. My boyfriend & I have been here twice. I had the "sweet salad" & the salad with quinoa (forget the name) and they were both delicious. My boyfriend gets chicken tacos and loves them. Oh and the corn salsa you get with chips and dip? DELICIOUS. Definitely try that. I came here once by myself & got a shrimp taco and a veggie taco both on corn tortillas (they have available by request) -- both so good. I really loved the flavors on the veggie taco. Great food, full bar, two TVs and outdoor seating. AND really delicious donuts. The only thing I want to add is that I wish they had a number system when you ordered. Sometimes the servers come out & seem to not know where they're going. Other than that, AWESOME. don't let the bad reviews deter you.

Best donuts ever. Good, solid, fresh food at a very fair price. Excellent Guacamole. Solid counter service place. Awesome alternative to fast food joints.

I tried the chicken, beef, and pork taco. The chicken was tasteless almost like they boiled it for an hr to make it tender. The beef was dry and over seasoned. The pork was actually ok. There's a bar and a couch on one side and then a tiny donut case with extremely over priced donuts. The owner is horrible with customer service and the food here is sub par. I will not be returning. The food at Taco Bell is better.

Very disappointing. We got takeout from here tonight. Our order was wrong and the food wasn't very good. We were short one taco. We asked for no tomatoes on 2, but they held them on the wrong 2. The burrito we got was swimming in sauce. The steak meat was tough. This is the first time I've ever written a bad review, but I felt like I needed to warn people. The donuts are ok, not worth the price.

This rating is more for the price of the donuts than the taste. I was sad to see the change; can't quite get my head around Mexican food and donuts. I loved the food under the old name; haven't yet tried the food from The Sweet Taco but I have tried a couple of the donuts. They were good, but a little small and very pricey! My hubby brought home a dozen and the cost was nearly $20!! I wish the owners well as they are great people but I don't think I will be getting my sweets there too often. Will update the review after I've tasted the food.

pretty good i usually get the brisket tacos, the green pork chili is very good but be warned its spicy! i haven't tried the donuts yet and frankly just don't get the connection- maybe he wants to be Mexican version of federal donuts? prices are a little high for what you get, but i think prices would be ok if they at least gave you chips and salsa.

Really enjoyed my tacos and the owner was so sweet to us and gave us donuts to try. Loved all their creative donut varieties. Definitely will come back. Go here if you want something different then your standard casual dining experience. All you chipotle addicts live a little and try a true original spot.

They have crafted some very fresh twists on Mexican food. My burrito was the cheese steak but I requested chicken instead of steak and it was excellent. The food was fresh and full of flavor, the cheese sauce was very fresh and delicious!

Wife & I have been here 4-5 times. The food has always been good, the service is decent & beer is cold! I'm not a donut guy, but am told their "gourmet" donuts are delicious. I like that they have a full bar & the food comes out in a timely manner.

Loved this place when it was Taqiera Del Sol. They changed the menu and took off the enchiladas. The food doesn't taste the same.

Haters~.

The veggie burrito was filled with eggplant which was disgusting -- not a fan. Chips were greasy but the salsa was pretty good.

LOVE the food here. My company orders from them every other week and everyone in the company seems to be a fan. I always get the veggie burrito and churro donut for dessert. They provide excellent customer service and are quick to correct any issues if they arise. Thank you for your great service and yummy food!

Sad.

Had a couple tacos which were average at best. The wife had a fish taco that smelled like low tide. Not pleasant. Nice to have a beer available, though. Didn't try the donuts.

Eh. Donuts were good but the food was uber-gringo. Very plain and no real Mexican flavor. The actual quality of the food wasn't bad but I would pick Baja Fresh over this any day for fast "Mexican" food.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

(2)Lisa B.
They have crafted some very fresh twists on Mexican food. My burrito was the cheese steak but I requested chicken instead of steak and it was excellent. The food was fresh and full of flavor, the cheese sauce was very fresh and delicious!

Family friendly. Great donuts! Good brisket tacos. Also great margaritas(pitcher specials on Wednesdays)

(3)Greg L.

(4)Anthony B.
There is a serious lack of Taco places and this one fills a need. It's not the best but it's the best of what's around.
(3)Virginia S.
Went here for the 1st time a little nervous about what to expect. It was fantastic! Fresh tacos, great food, and the donuts were delish!!
(5)Rebecca H.
(5)Jacqueline C.
Really enjoyed my tacos and the owner was so sweet to us and gave us donuts to try. Loved all their creative donut varieties. Definitely will come back. Go here if you want something different then your standard casual dining experience. All you chipotle addicts live a little and try a true original spot.
(5)Reeba I.
I've gotten their taco salad at least 600 times....it never disappoints. Their donuts are great too!
(5)Marc L.
Love their donuts and haven't had a meal there yet that wasn't delicious. Would love to see a bigger variety but sometimes that comes at a cost I. Terms of quality.
(4)Aubrey B.
(2)Shanekah S.
(1)Cara T.
(5)Colleen M.
(4)J F.
Have to note that the decor has improved. Food is still decent. Competent beer selection. Take a pass on the donuts
(3)Tanya M.
(5)Harry D.
Second try. Services was great. Food was correct. Still not much in the flavor department. Donuts were great.
(4)Chris S.
(4)Abby K.
(2)Ginger B.
We only tried the donuts, and they were disappointing. Most of the options were just plain cake donuts topped with icing, and rolled in different cookie or candy bits. Plus, each donut was about twice as expensive as you would have guessed.
(2)Samantha E.
(4)Guy V.
Cashier had an attitude (unnecessary) Food is about a B, but took a bit long to get to the table
(2)Ray H.
(5)John B.
(4)Jennifer B.

(3)Andy S.
(4)Harry M.
Food was ok nothing remarkable drinks were a little overpriced, tried once have yet to give it a second shot better options with better prices
(2)Courtney G.
Haters~.
(4)Pat D.
Sad.
(2)Dan D.
Had a couple tacos which were average at best. The wife had a fish taco that smelled like low tide. Not pleasant. Nice to have a beer available, though. Didn't try the donuts.
(2)destry s.
(5)Natalie C.
Cool place, a bit pricey for a small taco but it was decent! Great staff, very friendly. Delicious chicken tacos and okay Spanish rice. The bar was a good addition.
(4)mike v.
Eh. Donuts were good but the food was uber-gringo. Very plain and no real Mexican flavor. The actual quality of the food wasn't bad but I would pick Baja Fresh over this any day for fast "Mexican" food.
(3)Cecelia S.
(5)Daniel H.
Love the variety of tacos offered, can get a big pricey. We eat in and take out on occasion. Management and staff are very friendly.
(4)Chris C.
The veggie burrito was filled with eggplant which was disgusting -- not a fan. Chips were greasy but the salsa was pretty good.
(2)Sheri M.
LOVE the food here. My company orders from them every other week and everyone in the company seems to be a fan. I always get the veggie burrito and churro donut for dessert. They provide excellent customer service and are quick to correct any issues if they arise. Thank you for your great service and yummy food!
(5)Louis G.
(4)Lisa B.
(1)Terri T.
Best brisket tacos around . You can order for catering . Staff is very friendly . Service is great . Very clean friendly place . highly recommend. !! Donuts are yummy .
(5)RB B.
(2)Xe X.
Disgusting food. the donuts were not fresh at all.
(1)Laura P.
(2)Frank P.
Tacos, donuts, and alcohol, it doesn't get any better. Everything I've had here has been amazing, from tacos to donuts. This place is definitely worth trying out if you like fresh tacos or are just in the mood for a fun flavored donut.
(5)Tina A.
Tried it once and boy what a let down... We were so excited and wanted to love this place. The donuts were good but we had tacos and a burrito.. awful, just awful! I don't even know what else to say.. it was bad and not worth the $.
(1)Shell S.
Loved this place when it was Taqiera Del Sol. They changed the menu and took off the enchiladas. The food doesn't taste the same. The donuts and fritters taste like store bought ones that they put toppings on to make their "own". They are horrible. Won't be going back. We used to go at least twice a month.
(1)J R.
I love this place ! And you can't beat $2 Tuesday's ! I am here at least once a week, more like 2 but who's counting . There is nothing I don't like here. The smoke pork taco is the best! And the local hot sauce gets 2 thumbs up as well. I bought 4 of them to take home.
(5)Kevin N.
Food is great, nice atmosphere ordered the brisket loaded nachos, but the brisket seemed a little overcooked, dry with no seasoning. Needed some help by rockeys Bbq hot sauce!
(4)Patty G.
(3)N L.
(3)Chevy Chase Reviewer A.
(5)Ryan B.
Good food crap service. Didnt make simple order right.after waiting long I didnt want to wait longer to return it
(2)Stephanie K.
I had the worst experience here the other day! They served me brown lettuce :( the girl who took our order was miserable! Felt rushed to make a decision. My friends and I will never go back. Nothing sweet about this place!
(1)Dean M.
New iteration. Same owner we were told... by the pretty unwelcoming, flat-affect owner. Food was good. Staff friendly. This would have been a 4-star review except the owner was 2-star unwelcoming (at least at that moment in time). Their outdoor plants need watering!
(3)Aye M.
(5)Cynthia C.

Bring back the enchiladas!!!! PLEASE
(3)Chris T.
(2)Jackie C.
(2)bill f.
pretty good i usually get the brisket tacos, the green pork chili is very good but be warned its spicy! i haven't tried the donuts yet and frankly just don't get the connection- maybe he wants to be Mexican version of federal donuts? prices are a little high for what you get, but i think prices would be ok if they at least gave you chips and salsa.
(4)Xe X.
Disgusting food. the donuts were not fresh at all.
(1)Jacqueline C.

(3)Lisa B.
They have crafted some very fresh twists on Mexican food. My burrito was the cheese steak but I requested chicken instead of steak and it was excellent. The food was fresh and full of flavor, the cheese sauce was very fresh and delicious!
(5)Pricilla C.
Family friendly. Great donuts! Good brisket tacos. Also great margaritas(pitcher specials on Wednesdays)
(3)Ryan D.
(5)Christopher D.

(5)Natalie C.
Cool place, a bit pricey for a small taco but it was decent! Great staff, very friendly. Delicious chicken tacos and okay Spanish rice. The bar was a good addition.

(3)Greg L.
(4)Grace S.
I really love the unique tacos they have. I had great service every time. The donuts are delicious as well! I highly recommend this place!
(4)Joseph W.
Wife & I have been here 4-5 times. The food has always been good, the service is decent & beer is cold! I'm not a donut guy, but am told their "gourmet" donuts are delicious. I like that they have a full bar & the food comes out in a timely manner.

(4)Tanya M.
(5)Harry D.
Second try. Services was great. Food was correct. Still not much in the flavor department. Donuts were great.

(5)Colleen M.
(4)J F.
Have to note that the decor has improved. Food is still decent. Competent beer selection. Take a pass on the donuts

(5)Chris S.
(4)Abby K.
(2)Ginger B.
We only tried the donuts, and they were disappointing. Most of the options were just plain cake donuts topped with icing, and rolled in different cookie or candy bits. Plus, each donut was about twice as expensive as you would have guessed.
(2)Samantha E.
(4)Guy V.
Cashier had an attitude (unnecessary) Food is about a B, but took a bit long to get to the table
(2)Ray H.
(5)John B.
(4)Shell S.
Loved this place when it was Taqiera Del Sol. They changed the menu and took off the enchiladas. The food doesn't taste the same. The donuts and fritters taste like store bought ones that they put toppings on to make their "own". They are horrible. Won't be going back. We used to go at least twice a month.
(1)Jennifer B.

(4)Louis G.

(1)Terri T.
Best brisket tacos around . You can order for catering . Staff is very friendly . Service is great . Very clean friendly place . highly recommend. !! Donuts are yummy .
(5)RB B.
(2)Brian C.

(3)Andy S.
(4)Harry M.
Food was ok nothing remarkable drinks were a little overpriced, tried once have yet to give it a second shot better options with better prices
(2)Courtney G.
Haters~.
(4)Cecelia S.
(5)Daniel H.
Love the variety of tacos offered, can get a big pricey. We eat in and take out on occasion. Management and staff are very friendly.
(4)David W.
(5)M. C.
Need to work on the quality control of the food. The food seems really greasy lately
(3)Susanne K.

I had the worst experience here the other day! They served me brown lettuce :( the girl who took our order was miserable! Felt rushed to make a decision. My friends and I will never go back. Nothing sweet about this place!

New iteration. Same owner we were told... by the pretty unwelcoming, flat-affect owner. Food was good. Staff friendly. This would have been a 4-star review except the owner was 2-star unwelcoming (at least at that moment in time). Their outdoor plants need watering!

Bring back the enchiladas!!!! PLEASE
